The $220 saves you

Six things buyers don't see until it's theirs.

Every one of these turned up on a Sydney driveway this year. Every one of them is invisible in a listing photo. The inspection pays for itself the first time you avoid one.

Anatomy of an inspection

What actually happens in the two hours we've got the car.

  1. 0:00
    Arrival & cold-start

We show up before the seller warms the engine. A cold start tells us more than a hot one ever will — listen for lifter tick, valve tap, misfires and smoke on first crank.

  2. 0:10
    OBD & module scan

Live diagnostic across every module — engine, transmission, ABS, SRS, body. Historic and pending fault codes are captured, not just what's flashing right now.

  3. 0:25
    Underbody & structure

On the ramps or the ground. Chassis rails, subframe, sump, diff, exhaust, suspension bushes, brake lines. Photos of anything that looks repaired, welded, or leaking.

  4. 0:50
    Body, paint & interior

Paint depth gauge on every panel. Panel gaps measured. Every electric, every switch, every seat. Airbags counted, seatbelts pulled to full extension.

  5. 1:15
    6–10 km road test

Extended mixed driving — cold, warm, motorway, stop-start. Gearbox behaviour under load, brake fade, steering pull, drivetrain vibration, alignment feel.

  6. 1:50
    Debrief call

Before we leave the car, we call you. Verbal summary of what we found, what to negotiate, what to walk away from. No jargon.

  7. Instant
    Written report

50+ HD photos with annotations, 3 customer videos, severity-graded findings, repair cost estimates, market valuation, Seller Honesty Check, PPSR summary and negotiation notes. Delivered instantly by email before we leave the car.

Meet the mechanic

Not a call centre. A tradesman with a torch.

Every inspection is carried out by a fully qualified, cert-III trade mechanic with a minimum ten years on the tools — most of ours have twenty. The person on the driveway is the person who writes your report and takes your call.

Meet the team
A pre-purchase inspection isn't a checklist — it's a story. Cold-start behaviour, brake dust colour, the way second gear engages on a warm engine. My job is to read the car and tell you what it's about to cost you. That's it.

Our commitments

Three unambiguous promises.

We can't promise the car you're looking at is a good one. We can promise the inspection you paid for will be complete, on time, and clearly explained — or we make it right.

01
We arrive in your window

If we're not on the driveway inside the two-hour window you booked, the inspection is free. No debate.

02
The seller cancels

Seller flakes, hides the car, or refuses access on the day — you get a full refund the same afternoon.

03
The report reads clearly

If any finding in your report is unclear, a senior mechanic will call and walk you through it — no extra charge, no time limit.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Still have a question? Call us on the number in the header — we answer 7 days.

How long does an inspection take?+

Around 90 minutes on-site plus a 6–10 km road test. Your written report lands in your inbox instantly — before we leave the car — with 50+ HD photos, 3 videos, repair cost estimates, market valuation and PPSR summary.

What do I need to organise?+

Just the seller's contact. We call to arrange access. Bring the car to us or we go to it — same flat $220. If the seller cancels or hides the car, we refund you in full.

Do you inspect at dealerships?+

Yes — dealers see us regularly. We're fully independent, take no referral fees, and dealers can't influence a word of the report.

What if the car fails?+

You get the same full report either way. Most clients use failed inspections to renegotiate the price or walk away. That is the point of paying us.

Do you cover EVs and hybrids?+

Yes — including battery state-of-health scans for Tesla, BYD, MG, Polestar, and most hybrids. Same flat $220.

How far ahead do I need to book?+

Instant reports are standard when you book before 10am. Weekends fill up by Thursday — the earlier you lock a window, the more you'll get to choose from.

Can I be there during the inspection?+

Absolutely encouraged. Buyers who come along learn a lot about the car. If you can't be there, we call you before we leave to walk through the findings verbally.

What isn't included?+

We're a non-invasive inspection — no dismantling, no gearbox oil pans, no compression tests unless requested. See the exclusions page for the full list.

Do you check the paperwork?+

Yes. PPSR (finance owing, written-off, stolen), NEVDIS odometer plausibility, and rego status are all included in every report at no extra cost.

What areas do you cover?+

All of Greater Sydney at the flat $220 — CBD to Penrith, Northern Beaches to Sutherland Shire. Central Coast, Wollongong and Blue Mountains available on request.
